In Egypt, Cult Temples were believed to be the actual dwellings of the gods and were modeled after the residences of the noble pharaohs. The temples were built for the official worship of the gods and in commemoration of the pharaohs. This means that temples were seen as houses for kings and gods, and were dedicated to them.
