7(2x + 5) = 4x - 9x

Distribute 7:
14x + 35 = 4x - 9x

Combine like terms:
14x + 35 = -5x

Add 5x to both sides:
19x + 35 = 0

Take away 35 from both sides;
19x = -35

Divide by 19:
x = -35/19

Answer:
x = -35/19
