if the diameter is 10.4, the radius is half that, or 5.2, therefore,

[tex]\bf \textit{area of a circle}\\\\ A=\pi r^2\qquad \begin{cases} r=radius\\ -----\\ r=5.2 \end{cases}\implies A=\pi 5.2^2\implies A=27.04\pi [/tex]
