we call : a, b - the numbers

a + b = 161

a - b = 23  ⇒  a = 23 + b

23 + b + b = 161

2b + 23 = 161

2b = 161 - 23

2b = 138                       a = 23 + b

b = 138 : 2                    a = 23 + 69

b = 69                           a = 92
