Z = y/x if z = 4.0 and y = 6.8 what is the value of x?

Let's substitute:

z=y/x

4=6.8/x

now, let's multiply both sides by x:

4x=6.8

and divide by 4:

x=6.8/4=1.7


The value of x is 1.7
