The effect of the Supreme Court's decision in the case of Lochner v. New York was that people were able to work as much as they wanted. It defended that if a person wanted to work longer than the hours they were limited to, they were allowed to do so. The Supreme Court decided this was bridged under the right to work. This is one of the Supreme Court's most controversial decisions.
