You want to get new carpet for a square room that has an area of 150 square feet. You can only order carpet using dimensions to the nearest whole foot. What would be the dimensions of the carpet so that the entire room is covered?

A=s^2, where s is a side length, and we are told A=150ft^2 so:

s^2=150

s=√150

s≈12.25 ft

So you would need a piece of carpet 13ft by 13ft
13x13 is correct because it cant be 12x12 because you would get 144 and need another 6 inches.
