Divide the rectangle in half vertical-wise and horzintal-wize. This creates four equal sections, or partitions the garden into quarters ([tex]\frac{1}{4}[/tex]).

Please note you can also divide it into four portions vertically or four portions horizontally and reach the same result of four quarters.
