Why do a cars tires need more air in the winter than they do in the summer

I believe the pressure inside the tires decreases in the winter because of the cold and increases in the summer when the air is heated up making it expand and add more pressure

Because the tire pressure in the summer increases and the tire pressure in the winter decreases. Therefore, cars tires need more air in the winter than the summer.
