In periodic table on moving left to right the radii of elements decreases, Because on moving left to right (Al ---> P) the number of electron in same shell increases. Due to which, Electron and nucleus attraction, intraelectronic repulsion increases. Overall results in decreases in the size of atom.

This trend vanishes for d and f block elements and some abnormal behaviour is found.
