water is an essential part of life. it’s used for drinking, bathing, irrigation/farming, making houses, and many other vital aspects of life. many early
civilizations gravitated towards these areas for this reason. mind you they did not have fast means of transportation, so it was easier to just live near water rather than travel great distances to get to it
