Answer:

Ratio of sweaters to dresses = 8 : 5

Sum of ratios = 13

Let number of sweater + dresses = x

[tex]number \ of \ sweaters = \frac{8}{13} *x\\\\24 = \frac{8}{13}*x\\\\x = \frac{24*13}{8} = 3*13 = 39[/tex]

[tex]number \ of \ dresses = 39 - 24 = 15[/tex]
