Legitimate power is power you
derive from your formal position or office held in the organization's hierarchy
of authority. Subordinates
acknowledge the legitimate power that comes from being in a leadership position
in an organization. Reward power is the
extent to which a manager can use rewards to influence others. ex. power to hire new employees, assign projects, monitor work,
appraise performance.
