n is 12 bc in algebra you would do 39-3 and then the 3 cancels out on the left side. then you do 36 ( bc of 39-3) and divide it by 3. then u would get 12

second, the answer is n= 12

we subtract 3 from both sides:

3n  +  3  =  39

      - 3      -3

3n  =  36

then we dived both sides by 3

3n/ 3  =  36/3

n   = 12
