Explanation:

The IT band stands for Ilio-tibial Band and is the longest tendon in the body. It originates out of a hip flexor muscle called TFL (Tensor Fascia Latae) at the Iliac Crest (pelvic bone) and attaches down at the outside of the tibia (shin bone).
