Well adversity is hard time or misfortune.
We turn to violence to express emotion.
I believe we resort to violence when faced with adversity because it becomes difficult to deal with. Being in a rough situation cause distress. That builds up and when a person can no longer hold it in, they can get violent. Turning to violence becomes their way of “letting it out”.
