Equation of a line is given by y - y1 = m(x - x1); where m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

y - (-1) = ((-3 - (-1))/(-1 - 0))(x - 0)
y + 1 = ((-3 + 1)/-1)(x)
y + 1 = -2/-1(x)
y + 1 = 2x
y = 2x - 1
