In the midst of the Korean war, the disagreement between president truman and general macarthur centered on the issues of the question of whether the president had the authority to fire Douglas MacArthur. He drove the United Nations Command in the Korean War until he was expelled from charge by President Harry S. Truman on 11 April 1951.
