2 recombination events must occur ,each one on either side of pro. The pro(+) thi (+) would have had recombination in the regions labeled as A and C ( refer attached picture) and pro(+) thi (- )in regions labeled as A and B.

The genotypes of the two types of cultures are

pro(+) thi (-) which grows only on media supplemented with thiamine.

pro( +) thi (+) which grows on minimal media.
