The bravery of Beowulf made him win several battles. His past wins and pride blinded him, thus he forgot the fact that he is already aged, and doesn’t possess the strength which he had earlier.
His overestimation of himself urged him to fight with a dragon alone, and at last, he was wounded by the dragon and died because of his hubris.
