A day at the theatre was a thrilling event. A flag would be raised on the day of a performance to advertise the production. These flags were color coded—a black flag indicated tragedy, white represented comedy and red announced a play based on history. Hundreds of people would gather around merchant stalls and refreshment stands waiting for the trumpet blast that announced the start of the play. The atmosphere was quite festive. What can the reader conclude from this passage? (A.)During Shakespeare's time, theatre was a major form of entertainment (B.) Romeo and Juliet is Shakespeare's most famous tragedy.(C.) Shakespearian theatre was primarily for the literate nobles. (D.)Lack of electricity made it difficult to produce quality theatre.

I personally would pick A, and here's why;

B) Romeo And Juliet wasn't mentioned. The black flag part indicates tragedy, but never is Romeo and Juliet mentioned.

C) I can imagine that if they raised color coded flags, as opposed to big signs with letters on them, it was because they welcomed more than just literate nobles.

D) Never mentioned a t a l l . Unless there's a missing paragraph, electricity is quite irrelevant in this passage.
