Whereas in mitosis only the cell divides itself and forms two cells. mitosis occurs in asexual reproduction dividing the cells and in turn forming a new cell. Mitosis is a form of asexual reproduction because the exact copy of the parent cell is produced, only one organism is needed for it to occur.
