Oceanic crust is the ocean floor. Is it made up volcanic rock, basalt, and is it thin only several miles thick. Basalt is much denser and heavier because of composition.
Continental crust is much thicker but less heavy and dense than the ocean floor. It is made up granite. Continental crust cannot be renewed that is why they're much older than their counterpart.
