Hi!

You need to find the common divider, so you can subtract them, in this case, it's 15.

(3*3)/(5*3) - (1*5)/(3*5) = 9/15 - 5-15 = 4/15

Hope this helps!

Hello!

Explanation:

[tex]\frac{3}{5}- \frac{1}{3}[/tex]

First, multiply by the numbers and denominators. 5*3

[tex]5*3=15[/tex]

[tex]\frac{9}{15}- \frac{5}{15}[/tex]

Then, you subtract by the number that came from numerator. 9-5

[tex]9-5=4[/tex]

Answer: [tex]\frac{4}{15}[/tex]

Hope this helps!

-Charlie

Thanks!
