5.5 + -1x = -4.5 + -1x

Add 'x' to each side of the equation.

5.5 + -1x + x = -4.5 + -1x + x

Combine like terms:

-1x + x = 0

5.5 + 0 = -4.5 + -1x + x

5.5 = -4.5 + -1x + x

Combine like terms:
