2x - 4y = 10

4y = 2x - 10

y = 1/2 x - 5/2

Slope = 1/2

Hi!

We need to isolate y on one side. Whatever we do to the equation we have to do to both sides.

-------------------------------------

Subtract 2x from both sides.

2x - 2x - 4y = -2x + 10

-4y = -2x + 10

Divide by -4 on both sides

-4y/-4 = -2x/-4 + 10/-4

y = 1/2x - 2.5

--------------------------------------

The slope is 1/2

Hope this helps! :)
