The volume of the Ti unit cell can be calculated using Equation :

[tex] V_{c}=\frac{n\times A_{Ti}}{\rho \times N_{A}} [/tex]

For HCP, n tthat is number of atoms/unit cell = 6 atoms/unit cell,

atomic weight for Ti, ATi = 47.9 g/mol.

Thus, [tex] V_{c}=\frac{6\times 47.9}{4.51 \times 6.023\times 10^{23}}  [/tex]

= 1.058 × 10−22 cm³/unit cell

= 1.058 × 10−28 m³/unit cell
