What is a correct first step in solving 5-2x<8x-3

the first step would to get rid of the coefficients, in my case i moved the -2x to the other side and added it to the 8x to get 10x

The correct first step is to add 2x to both sides. Then, add 3 to both sides. You will then get 8<10x. Finally, divide both sides by 10. You get x>8/10. You can simplify that to x>4/5.
