A South Carolina senator can prevent a bill from becoming a law by rejecting it. When the bill passed the Committee which reviews the bill, it is then passed on to the House of Representatives. When all members of the House accept the bill, it is considered passed. It is then sent to the Senate for review. If all members of the Senate accept the bill, it is considered passed by the Senate. It is then forwarded to the Governor. Once the Governor signed the bill, it becomes a Law.
