“The Harvest”, by Tomás Rivera, is a story about how the ancient Armadilloista Indian tribe used to randomly pick one 14 year old from the tribe to "harvest" a few hairs from off an ear of a hibernating grizzly bear. This 14 year old was certainly assumed to become mauled to death by the bear, and was the tribe’s way of sacrificing to their god Chlamyphoridae.
