Number of cards in a deck = 52

Number of sevens in the deck = 4

P(seven) = 4/52 = 1/13

P(not seven) = 1 - 1/13 = 12/13

There are 4 suits in a deck, hence there will be 4 sevens in a deck.

[tex]52 - 4 = 48[/tex]

Probability that you are not dealt a seven :
[tex] \dfrac{48}{52} = \dfrac{12}{13} [/tex]

Answer : 12/13
